Job Summary

We are looking for a creative and dedicated MYP Product Design Teacher to join our IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in design thinking, innovation, and technology, with the ability to guide students through the process of identifying real-world problems and creating functional, sustainable design solutions. The teacher will foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in students while developing their technical and design skills.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Product Design lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework.
- Guide students through the design cycle-inquiring, developing ideas, creating solutions, and evaluating outcomes.
- Teach practical skills in design software, prototyping, and hands-on model making.
- Encourage innovation, problem-solving, and the responsible use of materials and technology.
- Design, assess, and evaluate formative and summative assessments as per MYP assessment criteria.
- Support students in documenting their design process using digital portfolios and design journals.
- Collaborate with colleagues for unit planning, interdisciplinary projects, and STEAM initiatives.




- Integrate digital design tools (e.g., TinkerCAD, SketchUp, Fusion 360, or Adobe Suite) into classroom teaching.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring design lab/workshop environment.
- Participate in professional development, design exhibitions, and school-wide innovation programs.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with IB MYP Design curriculum or inquiry/project-based learning approaches (preferred).
- Proficiency in digital design tools and an understanding of fabrication techniques (3D printing, woodworking, etc.).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to integrate sustainability and innovation into the design process.
- Passion for mentoring students in creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Work Time

7:40 AM to 3:45 PM (Monday to Saturday)
