Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner with 8+ years of experience in the railway industry to support planning, analysis, and development of rail transport systems. The role will involve demand forecasting, network planning, timetable analysis, capacity assessment, operational planning, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams for railway infrastructure and operations projects.

Responsibilities

- Develop and review rail transport plans, service patterns, and operational strategies.
- Conduct passenger and freight demand analysis, ridership forecasting, and capacity assessments.
- Support railway network planning, station planning, corridor studies, and route optimization.
- Prepare and assess timetables, headways, rolling stock requirements, and operational scenarios.
- Use transport planning tools and models to evaluate railway performance and future demand.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, signaling, infrastructure, and commercial teams.
- Prepare technical reports, planning documents, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Support feasibility studies, business cases, and transport strategy development for rail projects.
- Ensure planning outputs comply with applicable railway standards,



safety requirements, and project objectives.

Qualifications

- Bachelor s degree in civil engineering and Master s degree in Transport Planning, Railway Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in transport planning, preferably within railway, metro, light rail, or mass transit projects (Relevant experience (Rail/Metro) not less than 3 Years).
- Solid understanding of railway operations, capacity planning, demand forecasting, and service planning.
- Experience working on feasibility studies, master plans, operational plans, or detailed project reports for rail projects.
- Proficiency in transport modelling/planning tools such as Emme, VISUM, VISSIM, RailSys, OpenTrack, Cube, or similar tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical, report writing, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
