Job Summary
Role Purpose: The Learning Experience Specialist will provide academic and implementation leadership for Quest Alliance s Schools Program in Odisha, strengthening the quality and scale of learning experiences in government secondary and upper-primary schools. Working closely with the State Lead and programme team, the role translates learning strategy into practical, scalable approaches across curriculum and content, educator capacity building, classroom implementation and continuous improvement. The Specialist will strengthen computational thinking, coding and future-ready learning experiences, support student innovation, and help build learning systems that are responsive to implementation realities and can be adopted sustainably at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning Strategy, Academic Leadership Program Quality
- Provide academic leadership to strengthen the quality, relevance and scalability of learning experiences across the programme.
- Work with programme and field teams to identify implementation challenges, academic needs and responsive support strategies at district and state levels.
- Use field insights, educator feedback and programme data to continuously improve curriculum, capacity building and implementation approaches.
- Align learning priorities with state strategy, academic calendars and Quest Alliance s wider Learning Experience frameworks.
- Curriculum, Content Learning Resources
- Lead and support development, adaptation and review of curriculum, learning resources and facilitation materials for Grades 6-10 and relevant programme interventions.
- Strengthen learning outcomes, learner-centred pedagogy, practice opportunities and assessment approaches; develop lesson plans, facilitator guides, project-based and digital/blended resources.
- Lead academic quality assurance including content review, vetting, localisation and testing, and maintain a repository of quality learning resources for scale.
- Capacity Building Continuous Learning Support
- In collaboration with State and central teams - design sustained professional learning journeys for teachers, Master Trainers, academic resource persons, government officials and internal programme teams.
- Develop training designs and facilitator resources; facilitate key programmes and strengthen practitioner leaders in classroom practice, facilitation and peer support.
- Build year-round learning support through webinars, digital resources, videos, online communities and peer-learning mechanisms aligned with implementation needs.
- Field Learning, Monitoring Continuous Improvement
- Maintain a strong connection with classroom realities through regular engagement with educators, field teams and selected schools.
- Work with programme, field and MEL teams to use dashboards, monitoring tools, qualitative insights and feedback to identify trends and improve programme quality.
- Strengthen feedback loops, programme reviews, documentation and knowledge-management systems so implementation learning informs district and state decision-making.
- Student Innovation Applied Learning
- Lead learning design and academic support for Ideathons, Hackathons, coding challenges and other applied-learning experiences.
- Design problem-solving and project-based learning journeys that build computational thinking, creativity and collaboration.
- Enable teachers and education practitioners to mentor student teams and progressively own school-level innovation activities.
- Institutional Partnerships, Team Enablement Knowledge
- Work with the State Lead to provide academic and implementation inputs for government, academic and institutional engagement, and represent Quest Alliance in relevant forums.
- Lead curriculum alignment,
content review, capacity-building and co-creation processes with institutional partners while strengthening programme ownership through existing education structures.
- Mentor state, district and field teams; strengthen facilitation quality, quality-assurance processes and reflective practice.
- Engage actively with the central Learning Experience team and contribute to organisation-wide thematic priorities, shared resources and professional learning.
Required Experiences & Skills
- 8-12 years of relevant experience in education, preferably in large-scale education programmes and/or government school systems.
- Strong experience in curriculum and content development, learning design, teacher career development and capacity building.
- Demonstrated ability to translate academic and learning strategies into practical approaches that can be implemented at scale.
- Strong understanding of computational thinking, coding education, STEM education and/or technology-enabled learning; familiarity with Scratch is preferred.
- Familiarity with career exploration frameworks and strong understanding of experiential, project-based and learner-centred pedagogies.
- Experience designing and facilitating professional learning programs for teachers, trainers, academic resource persons or government stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, analytical and relationship-building skills; ability to work collaboratively while providing clear academic leadership.
- Familiarity with NEP 2020, school education systems and curriculum frameworks; strong comfort with digital tools and platforms for learning and collaboration.
- English required; Odia preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
