The Body Shop Advisor acts as the primary point of contact for customers requiring vehicle body repairs and accident-related services. This role involves assessing vehicle damage, coordinating with technicians and insurance companies, and ensuring a smooth repair process while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and understand their vehicle repair needs, especially for accident or body damage cases
- Inspect vehicles and prepare accurate repair estimates for bodywork and paint jobs
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and quality repairs
- Liaise with insurance companies for claim processing, approvals, and documentation
- Explain repair processes, timelines, and costs clearly to customers
- Maintain regular updates with customers regarding repair status
- Ensure proper documentation of job cards, estimates, invoices, and insurance claims
- Conduct final inspection of repaired vehicles before delivery
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and ensure satisfaction
- Maintain records of all body shop operations and transactions
Required Skills & Competencies
- Robust knowledge of automobile body repair and paint processes
- Familiarity with insurance claim procedures and documentation
- Excellent communication and customer handling skills
- Good negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to prepare accurate estimates
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, dealership management systems)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automobile Engineering or related field (preferred)
- 2-5 years of experience in body shop/service advisory role in the automobile industry
- Experience working with authorized dealerships or workshops is an advantage
