About Data Governance Role

Master Data Governance (MDG) is the framework of policies, processes, roles, standards, and controls used to ensure that master data is accurate, consistent, complete, and maintained throughout its lifecycle across the organization, the Master Data Governance team is responsible for data is governed according to defined business standards and policies. The team drives data quality, manages the master data lifecycle, resolves data issues, and collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to ensure consistent, accurate, and trusted data across enterprise systems.

The team also reviews the existing functional and non-functional requirements and ensure they contain all the pertinent design and architecture components to support the deployment of all key features in the form of reports using the ISDS and SSIS/SQL

Client Responsibilities:

- Define and maintain data standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure data quality by monitoring, identifying, and resolving data issues.
- Manage the lifecycle of master data, including creation, modification, and deactivation.
- Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across business functions.
- Support regulatory and compliance requirements related to data management.
- Conduct data quality assessments, audits, and root cause analysis.
- Drive data cleansing and remediation initiatives to improve business process efficiency.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure data consistency across systems.
- Monitor governance KPIs and provide dashboards and reports on data quality performance.
- Support business transformations & Process improvements, analytics, and decision-making through trusted data.

Process Responsibilities:

- Define and maintain data governance processes, standards, and procedures.




- Monitor data quality KPIs and implement corrective actions for identified issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive data issue resolution processes.
- Manage data validation, cleansing, enrichment, and remediation activities.
- Ensure adherence to Compliance and Skill Enhancement
- Coordinate data stewardship activities across business functions.
- Perform periodic data quality audits and compliance checks.
- Support issue escalation and resolution workflows involving business and technical teams.
- Maintain governance documentation, process guidelines, and data dictionaries.
- Process documents and training documents update (Metadata management)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality and process efficiency

Must have:

- Strong Communication, Email Writing and Analytical skills.
- Experienced in Data management and data governance framework implementations and operational management for larger programs
- Deep Knowledge in Data quality, Data analytics, Data modelling and data migration concepts
- Consulting and implementation experience in Data services for larger ERP deployments
- Valuable knowledge of Project and program management methodology
- ERP domain expertise – SAP MDG or similar data governance tools and techniques
- should have innovative mindset and drive team towards innovation and efficiency.
- Adept at communicating and operating in fast-paced and complex environments of diverse business cultures.
- Should work from office 5days in a week (No Work from home)

Good to have:

- Good-to-have knowledge for a Data Governance professional includes Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality, Metadata Management, business process knowledge, ERP systems (SAP), data analysis and reporting, SQL, data privacy and compliance, stakeholder management, and process improvement methodologies.

Qualification: Master’s degree (MBA, M. Com, M. Sc and M. Tech)
