Role Overview:
The Purchase Officer will be responsible for executing the procurement process in line with company policies and project requirements. The role involves vendor management, sourcing, negotiation, order processing, and ensuring timely availability of materials and services to support manufacturing operations at Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials, consumables, equipment, and services.
- Raise purchase requisitions and process purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with the production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure material availability without delays.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve discrepancies related to quality, quantity, or documentation.
- Support audits by ensuring compliance with procurement policies and statutory regulations.




- Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders when necessary.
- Develop and maintain qualified relationships with vendors and contractors.
- Support continuous improvement in procurement processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate in Commerce/Engineering/Business Administration (MBA in Materials Management or Supply Chain preferred).
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in the steel / manufacturing / heavy engineering industry.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Good understanding of supply chain processes, contracts, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹20,600.95 - ₹42,529.61 per month
