Discovery & Requirement Understanding
- Lead discovery sessions with customers and key stakeholders to understand their business processes, challenges, and objectives.
- Ask the right questions to uncover the actual business requirement behind a stated request.
- Identify gaps, dependencies, assumptions, edge cases, and areas requiring further investigation.
- Work through ambiguous or incomplete requirements and bring structure and clarity to them.
- Understand how different departments and processes interact with each other.
Business Process Analysis
- Map and document existing As-Is processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Define To-Be processes that are practical, scalable, and suitable for ERP implementation.
- Understand workflows across areas such as Finance, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, HR, Services, or other business functions.
- Identify process inefficiencies and distinguish between a genuine business requirement and a preference for a particular way of working.
ERP Solutioning
- Translate business requirements into ERP workflows, configurations, and functional solutions.
- Understand ERP capabilities well enough to determine whether a requirement can be handled through:
Ø Standard ERP functionality Ø Configuration
Ø Process changes
Ø Customization/development
Ø Third-party integrations
- Work closely with Functional Consultants and Developers to communicate requirements clearly.
- Ensure proposed solutions are practical, maintainable, and aligned with the client's business objectives.
Client Communication
- Conduct client meetings, discovery workshops, requirement discussions, and solution walkthroughs.
- Communicate clearly with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Manage situations where stakeholders have different expectations or priorities.
- Set realistic expectations and avoid committing to solutions before the requirement and feasibility are properly understood.
- Build credibility with clients by demonstrating a strong understanding of their business rather than simply their requested features.
Documentation & Project Support
- Create process flows, requirement documents, user stories, functional specifications, and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain clear records of decisions, assumptions, open questions, and dependencies.
- Support the implementation team during configuration, testing, UAT, and go-live.
- Help identify gaps between the agreed requirement and the implemented solution.
- Participate in post-implementation discussions to identify opportunities for improvement.
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years of experience in Business Analysis, ERP implementation, functional consulting, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience in ERP discovery / requirement gathering.
- Strong understanding of business processes and how different functions within an organisation interact.
- Experience conducting discovery sessions or workshops with customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively with incomplete information and ambiguity.
- Strong questioning and listening skills — able to go beyond the first answer and uncover the underlying problem.
- Ability to distinguish between "what the client is asking for" and "what the client actually needs."
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical ERP solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with business users, senior stakeholders, consultants, and technical teams.
- Ability to document complex business processes in a clear and structured manner.
What Would Make You Stand Out
We would particularly value someone who:
- Has independently conducted ERP discovery workshops with customers.
- Has worked with businesses where requirements were initially unclear or poorly defined.
- Can challenge a client's proposed solution constructively and explain why an alternative may be better.
- Understands that ERP implementation often requires process improvement, not just software configuration.
- Can identify hidden dependencies between departments and processes.
- Is comfortable saying "we need to understand this better before deciding the solution."
- Has experience working across multiple industries or business functions.
- Can move comfortably between business conversations and technical discussions.
- Takes ownership of getting to the right answer, rather than simply documenting the first answer given by the client.
