Reports To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager
1. Job Summary
We are looking for Core & Coil Assemblers to support the manufacturing and assembly of electrical transformers. The selected candidates will be responsible for core assembly, coil assembly, core-coil integration, insulation placement, clamping, lead connections and related transformer assembly activities according to engineering drawings, production instructions and quality standards.
1. Qualification
- ITI in Electrician / Fitter / Electrical / Mechanical preferred
- Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage
- Candidates with relevant industrial assembly experience may also be considered
- Ability to understand basic technical drawings and work instructions
1. Experience
- Freshers can apply if they have relevant ITI/Diploma qualification
- 0–2 years: Junior / Trainee Core & Coil Assembler
- 2–5 years: Core & Coil Assembler / Technician
- 5+ years: Senior Core & Coil Technician / Lead Assembler
- Experience in transformer, electrical equipment, motor, panel or heavy engineering manufacturing will be preferred.
1. Key ResponsibilitiesCore Assembly
- Assemble transformer cores according to drawings and production instructions.
- Stack and align core laminations accurately.
- Maintain proper core dimensions, alignment and clearances.
- Perform core clamping, tightening and lacing activities.
- Handle core materials carefully to prevent damage or contamination.
Coil Assembly
- Assist in assembling transformer coils after winding.
- Position coils correctly on the core.
- Install insulation, spacers, blocks, wedges and other required materials.
- Maintain specified electrical clearances.
- Prepare and position coil leads as per drawings.
Core & Coil Assembly
- Insert and position coils on transformer core limbs.
- Perform alignment, clamping and tightening of the active part.
- Assemble top yoke/core sections where applicable.
- Ensure proper mechanical support of the core and coil assembly.
- Use appropriate hand tools, torque tools and assembly fixtures.
Lead & Connection Work
- Route and position internal coil leads according to drawings.
- Assist with crimping, brazing/soldering or termination activities where required.
- Ensure proper lead routing, insulation and clearances.
- Report incorrect connections or damaged insulation immediately.
