Role Purpose:

The Vessels Engineer will be responsible for the design and engineering of pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, ladders, and platforms used in industrial and water treatment systems. The role involves performing mechanical design calculations, reviewing engineering outputs, ensuring compliance with international codes, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Study and understand project requirements related to pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, ladders, and platforms.

- Provide inputs to the Lead Mechanical Engineer regarding design schedules and engineering deliverables.

- Perform mechanical design calculations for vessels and tanks including process-related calculations such as resin expansion, internals sizing, and equipment functionality.

- Conduct code-based design calculations as per applicable standards including ASME Section VIII Div.1 / Div.2, API 650, API 620, TEMA, and PD5500.

- Perform strength calculations, nozzle load calculations, and mechanical integrity checks for vessels and tanks.

- Conduct wind load, seismic load, and allowable nozzle load analysis for vessels and storage tanks.

- Perform equipment design calculations using specialized software such as PV Elite or Compress.

- Carry out preliminary fatigue assessment for vessels when required by project specifications.

- Coordinate with external engineering agencies when advanced FEA analysis is required,



providing necessary operational inputs such as pressure and temperature cycles.

- Review engineering outputs prepared by designers to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable design codes.

- Perform structural analysis of platforms using STAAD or equivalent tools.

- Coordinate with external structural agencies for advanced platform or structural analysis when required.

- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements for platform and ladder designs.

- Review and verify material selection for vessels, tanks, and associated structures ensuring compatibility with process requirements.

- Participate in engineering coordination and design review meetings to finalize design aspects such as nozzle orientation in coordination with piping teams.

- Resolve vendor technical queries related to vessels, tanks, and platforms in coordination with Lead Mechanical Engineers.

- Participate in customer meetings related to mechanical design aspects of vessels, tanks, and platforms.

- Prepare technical requisitions and upload material requirements in SAP systems.

- Review vendor quotations to ensure compliance with technical and project requirements.

- Prepare equipment datasheets and technical specifications for vessels, tanks, and related equipment.

- Support the Applications / Proposal team with design inputs, BOQs, and engineering estimates during FEED phases such as FEL-2 and FEL-3.

- Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and external vendors.
