Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Purchase to manage procurement activities, vendor development, and supply chain coordination. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely procurement of quality materials while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance. The role requires strong negotiation skills, technical understanding of manufacturing processes, and hands-on ERP/SAP experience.
Key Responsibilities Vendor Development & Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard potential suppliers based on organizational requirements.
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with vendors and raw material manufacturers.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives.
- Conduct supplier audits and vendor assessments.
- Schedule and coordinate vendor visits and management reviews.
Procurement & Purchase Management
- Source raw materials, components, and services as per project and production requirements.
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and Work Orders (WOs) with detailed terms and conditions.
- Obtain necessary internal approvals for procurement activities.
- Ensure timely procurement while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Prepare Techno-Commercial Comparative Statements for supplier evaluation.
Commercial Negotiation & Contract Management
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial agreements.
- Finalize contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and business objectives.
- Manage supplier agreements and ensure compliance with contractual commitments.
Quality & Technical Coordination
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
- Ensure supplied materials meet engineering and customer standards.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, Engineering, and Stores teams to resolve supplier-related issues.
- Support supplier quality improvement initiatives.
Risk Management
- Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
- Ensure continuity of supply through alternate sourcing strategies.
- Track market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier capabilities.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
- Experience in SAP/ERP systems.
