Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Production &

- Maintenance Engineer with strong expertise in assembly line automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial electronics, and facility maintenance. This is a critical hire for Macnaught India. In addition to owning day-to-day machine reliability and production efficiency, the successful candidate will be the Macnaught-side lead engineer for our upcoming factory relocation a live-plant move executed in phased waves by specialist relocation and fit-out contractors under Macnaught Engineering supervision. Continuity of customer supply is the governing constraint of the project: production continues throughout the move, and the engineers job is to make sure machines come back up to proven capability, on schedule, without supply interruption. The role also carries shop-floor engineering responsibility for new product line commissioning at the new site, which runs in parallel with the relocation.

Key Responsibilities

Factory Relocation Project (Immediate Priority)

Act as the Macnaught engineering counterpart to the appointed relocation and fit-out contractors: review and approve method statements, supervise de-installation, packing, shifting, re-installation and commissioning on the ground, and enforce permit-to-work and safety discipline throughout.

Coordinate OEM supervision and OEM-authorised service partners for critical and calibration-sensitive assets (CNC machining centres, CMM and test equipment), including precision levelling, alignment and warranty-safe handling.

¢ Own machine technical data for the move: asset register upkeep, machine weights, foundation and utility requirements, and pre-move capability and condition baselines for every machine.

¢ Support validation of the new plant layout: machine placement against foundations and floor loading, material flow, workstation ergonomics and space optimisation.

¢ Coordinate utilities readiness at the new site power distribution, compressed air, DG backup, water, ventilation and earthing working with the appointed contractors, consultants and the site developer, and verify installed works against the connected-load and air-demand studies.

¢ Work with production planning on the wave-by-wave relocation schedule, including dual-running of critical assembly lines, to minimise downtime and protect customer deliveries throughout the transition.

¢ Support statutory, safety and environmental compliance for the new facility (factory licence, electrical inspectorate, fire safety) in coordination with management and the compliance lead.

¢ Own post-move re-qualification: trial runs, recalibration (including NABL-accredited recalibration of transport-sensitive instruments), machine capability checks, first-article support with QA, and ramp-up to pre-move output levels before each wave is released.

Production &

- Assembly Line Automation

¢ Design, implement and optimise automated and semi-automated assembly line systems to improve productivity and quality.

¢ Monitor production performance (OEE, cycle times, rejections) and drive process improvement and cost reduction.

¢ Coordinate installation, commissioning and modification of production equipment, jigs, fixtures and test rigs.

¢ Sustain output on high-utilisation assembly lines during the relocation window, including support for temporary dual-running arrangements.

New Product Development (NPD) Support

¢ Provide shop-floor engineering for new product line commissioning at the new facility assembly stations, test rigs, jigs and fixtures commissioned directly at the new site in parallel with the relocation waves.

¢ Support new product introduction and engineering changes on the shop floor, working with Macnaught engineering teams in India and Australia.

¢ Establish process documentation, maintenance regimes and spare-parts coverage for recent lines from day one.

Maintenance &

- Facility

¢ Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic control systems (including PLC/HMI-based equipment).

¢ Establish and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules; maintain SOPs, technical documentation and maintenance records.

¢ Diagnose machine failures, lead Root Cause Analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

¢ Ensure availability and upkeep of facility utilities: compressors, power systems, DG sets and building infrastructure.

¢ Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing, AMCs and procurement.

Quality, Safety &

- Continuous Improvement

¢ Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards across production and maintenance activities.

¢ Drive TPM, 5S, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing initiatives on the shop floor.

¢ Collaborate with production, quality and engineering teams to achieve operational targets.

Required Qualifications

¢ Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Electronics,

or Mechatronics Engineering.

¢ 58 years of hands-on experience in production/maintenance engineering in a manufacturing environment.

¢ Proven experience working with NPD and Production Engineering teams is essential the role sits at the interface of both and supports new product introduction on the shop floor.

¢ Prior exposure to plant/machinery relocation, greenfield or brownfield facility setup, or major equipment installation and commissioning is strongly preferred in particular, supervising specialist rigging/relocation contractors and OEM engineers on a live site.

Required Skills

¢ Assembly line automation; installation and commissioning of production equipment

¢ Machine shop experience on CNC turning centres, machining centres and VMCs hands-on exposure to DMG, LMW, BFW and ITL machines will be preferred

¢ Machine shop and tool room machine maintenance is an added advantage

¢ PLC and HMI systems (troubleshooting and basic programming)

¢ Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

¢ Industrial electronics and electrical troubleshooting; plant utilities (compressed air, power distribution, DG)

¢ Contractor supervision on live sites: method statements, permit-to-work, lifting plans and EHS discipline

¢ Machine re-qualification: levelling, alignment, calibration coordination, capability studies and first-article support

¢ Preventive and predictive maintenance

- TPM

¢ Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Why, Fishbone

¢ Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Kaizen implementation

¢ AutoCAD or equivalent for plant layout and fixture drawings (preferred)

¢ Vendor and contractor coordination; project scheduling

¢ Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills; willingness to work extended hours and weekend move windows during the relocation phase

Preferred Industry Experience

¢ Pumps, fluid transfer, or lubrication equipment manufacturing

¢ Light engineering / precision assembly

¢ Automotive or automotive components

¢ Industrial equipment or consumer electronics

¢ FMCG or heavy engineering manufacturing

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

¢ Continuity of supply: zero missed customer dispatch commitments attributable to the relocation

¢ Factory relocation delivered on schedule, with zero safety incidents and zero major machine damage

¢ Time to restore full production output at the new facility each move wave requalified and ramped to pre-move levels within its planned window

¢ Re-qualification completeness: calibration, capability checks and first-article sign-off completed before production release on every relocated machine

¢ Current product lines commissioned at the new site to plan

¢ Machine uptime and OEE improvement

¢ Reduction in production downtime and breakdown recurrence

¢ Maintenance schedule compliance

¢ Cost reduction through process optimisation and energy efficiency

¢ Safety, quality and statutory compliance
