Role Purpose

Responsible for the development, calibration, validation, and optimization of gasoline engine control strategies to achieve performance, fuel economy, drivability, emissions compliance, and OBD requirements for passenger vehicle applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimize gasoline engine calibration for performance, fuel economy, emissions, and drivability.
- Perform calibration of engine control functions including:
- Air Path Management
- Fuel Injection
- Ignition Timing
- Torque Structure
- Knock Control
- Cold Start Calibration
- Catalyst Heating and Emission Control
- Conduct engine dynamometer, chassis dynamometer, and vehicle-level calibration activities.
- Support BS6/BS6 Phase-II and future regulatory compliance requirements.
- Validate OBD diagnostics and emission-related functions.
- Analyze test data and recommend calibration improvements.
- Collaborate with engine design, controls, testing, vehicle integration, and validation teams.




- Support vehicle development programs from concept through SOP.
- Prepare calibration reports and technical documentation.

Technical Skills
- Robust knowledge of Gasoline SI Engine fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with ECU calibration tools such as:
- ETAS INCA
- ATI Vision
- CANape
- Vector Tools
- Understanding of:
- Engine Management Systems (EMS)
- OBD-II/EOBD
- Emission Regulations
- Vehicle Diagnostics
- CAN Communication
- Knowledge of calibration processes for Turbocharged and Naturally Aspirated engines.
- Experience in data analysis tools such as MATLAB, Excel, and Python is preferred.

Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.
- Specialized training/certification in Calibration or Engine Management Systems will be an added advantage.
