As the firm scales, business development is moving from a founder-led activity to a dedicated function — and this role is the person who builds and owns it.
About the Role
The Business Development Manager owns Xponentiate's BD function end to end — from building and running the outbound engine that generates pipeline,
through to pitching, negotiating, and closing recent search mandates. This is not a role plugged into someone else's process. You build the machine, run it, and are accountable for what it produces in signed mandates and revenue.
You will work closely with the founder and the research and delivery teams, but the origination motion — who to target, how to reach them, and how to close them — is yours to design and run.
What the Role Owns
- Outbound infrastructure. Owning lead sourcing (Apollo), cold email infrastructure and deliverability (via platforms such as Instantly), and list-building against defined ICPs — healthtech founders, hospital CHROs, and healthcare VCs, across verticals such as fertility, cardiology, biotech, dermatology, and clinical trials.
- Pipeline generation. Running multi-touch outbound sequences across email and LinkedIn that convert cold contacts into qualified conversations.
