Role Description The Sports Editor will oversee and shape daily sports coverage, with a primary focus on cricket and additional attention to other major sports.

Responsibilities include assigning and editing articles, features, and match reports; developing story angles; and ensuring timely publication of content aligned with live events. The role involves coordinating with writers and contributors, managing press releases, and maintaining editorial standards, accuracy, and consistency across all platforms.

The Sports

Editor will also help plan content calendars,



respond quickly to breaking news, and support fan engagement initiatives on the site. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Janakpuri.

Qualifications

- Strong Sports Writing and general Writing skills, with the ability to produce transparent, engaging, and accurate sports content.
- Background in Journalism and experience crafting or editing Press Releases for sports-related topics.
- Deep knowledge of cricket and a solid understanding of other major sports such as Football.
- Excellent editing, fact-checking, and headline-writing abilities, with attention to detail and style consistency.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple stories.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with writers, designers, and digital teams.
- Familiarity with digital media, content management systems, and basic SEO practices for online publishing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
