About the role

You will design, build, and scale robust backend services, AI-enabled systems, and asynchronous data pipelines that power our digital learning platform. You will own features end to end, integrating contemporary intelligence workflows into stable APIs, optimizing database performance and caching, and delivering fast, highly available services that handle peak loads smoothly.

What you will do

● Design, build, and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs and real-time WebSocket communication pipelines.

● Architect multi-tenant SaaS backend services with strict tenant data isolation, role-based access control, and robust connection pooling.

● Design relational schemas, write optimized queries,



and perform proactive indexing and query tuning as datasets scale.

● Integrate production artificial intelligence features, including streaming response endpoints, model gateway routing, and prompt evaluation tooling.

● Define and maintain stable, versioned API contracts and asynchronous data models.

● Write comprehensive unit, integration, and load tests to ensure platform security, stability, and zero-downtime releases.

● Implement distributed caching, queue workers, and background job processing to sustain low latency under peak loads.

Must have

● 4 to 6 years of core experience engineering backend services and distributed systems.

● Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, or Python.

● Hands-on expertise in REST API architecture, HTTP/2 standards, and bidirectional WebSocket implementations.

● Proven experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures, data isolation, and tenant-level security.

● Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, indexing strategies, and query performance tuning.

● Practical experience implementing Redis for caching, pub/sub, session management, or message queueing.

● Solid understanding of asynchronous state handling, API error recovery, and rate-limiting patterns.

● Rigorous engineering practices using Git, automated pull request workflows, and collaborative code reviews.

Good to have

● Hands-on experience deploying and managing services on AWS (such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, and S3).

● Practical exposure to generative artificial intelligence workflows: LLM orchestration frameworks, hybrid search RAG architectures, model gateway cost/failover routing, and observability tools such as Langfuse.

● Experience with distributed message brokers and asynchronous task engines (such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, BullMQ, or Celery).

● Production experience with distributed tracing, logging, and performance monitoring tools (such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog, or Grafana).
