Position Summary:
Senior QA Engineer will take end-to-end ownership of quality across our digital ecosystem including e-commerce platform, partner integrations, physical store applications web portal, mobile app and backend APIs.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the overall test strategy, building and maintaining test automation frameworks, ensuring comprehensive test coverage, and providing quality sign-off for all production releases.
You will proactively identify risks, challenge assumptions, validate business requirements, and ensure that every release meets the highest standards of functionality, reliability, performance, and user experience.
You will play a critical role in establishing quality as a core part of the product development lifecycle and driving continuous improvement across testing processes, tools, and practices.
Key Skills:
- Full-spectrum test coverage. Plan and execute Functional, Regression, Integration, UAT, Smoke, System, Performance, Security, Database/Data Validation, API/Interface,
Compatibility testing across web (Next.js), mobile app (React Native/Expo) and backend microservices (Node.js, MySQL, Redis).
Outcome: No feature ships without a documented, executed test pass.
- API & contract testing. Build and maintain Postman collections (and/or Newman/CI-wired equivalents) covering positive, negative, and boundary cases for every service endpoint including auth, rate-limit and error-response contracts.
Outcome: API regressions caught before they reach a UI.
- Test automation. Design, build and maintain automated regression suites - UI (web + mobile) and API layer - and keep them running in CI so every merge gets a repeatable quality signal instead of a manual re-check.
Outcome: Regression cycle time drops; humans focus on new/risky areas.
- Money-path & UAT ownership. Own UAT sign-off for any new feature rollout- verify against ledgers and gateway records, not just UI state.
Outcome: Zero silent financial defects reach production
- Production release responsibility. validate every production release - prerelease smoke/regression sign-off, post-deploy verification (canary checks, key flows on prod), and go/no-go call. You are the last gate before a release is considered done.
Outcome: Every release has a named owner and a documented pass/fail record.
- Release documentation. Author release notes, test summary reports, defect logs and regression checklists for every release; maintain the living regression pack as features evolve.
Outcome: Every release is traceable - what changed, what was tested, what was signed off.
- Day-to-day QA operations. Triage and log defects with clear repro steps and severity; verify fixes; maintain test data and environments (UAT); coordinate with dev, product and business on acceptance criteria; run cross-browser/cross-device checks for web and mobile.
Outcome: Predictable,
low-friction QA cadence for every sprint. Must-have qualifications:
- 8 to 10 years in software QA, spanning manual and automated testing, in a hands-on execution capacity - not only test-plan authoring.
- Education- Btech
- Prior experience in the fintech / BFSI domain - banking, payments, broking, trading, lending or a similarly regulated financial environment.
- Proven experience across Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, UAT, Smoke Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing, Security Testing, Database/Data Validation Testing, API/Interface Testing, Compatibility Testing on production financial systems.
- Hands-on with Postman (or equivalent) for REST API testing - collections, environments, chained requests, scripted assertions.
- Testing experience on both mobile apps (Android & iOS) and web applications, including responsive/cross-browser and device-matrix testing.
- Test automation experience building and maintaining automated test suites (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium or similar) integrated into CI/CD.
- Comfortable reading SQL and API/service logs to verify backend state, not just UI outcomes - able to independently confirm a transaction landed correctly in the database and ledger.
- Strong defect documentation discipline: clear repro steps, severity/priority judgement, and release notes that a non-technical stakeholder can read.
- Comfortable being the accountable owner for a production release sign-off, including post-deploy verification.
Valuable to have:
- Experience testing integrations with upstream and downstream applications success/ failure/ timeout/ refund/ webhook paths.
- Experience testing against microservices architectures with async flows (SQS, webhooks, cron jobs).
- Basic performance/load testing exposure (JMeter, k6) to flag obvious regressions before handing off to a dedicated performance pass.
- Accessibility testing awareness (WCAG) for web and mobile.
- Familiarity with Jira defect-tracking and release-management tooling.
- Exposure to Redis, Prisma/MySQL, or AWS-hosted microservice environments (EKS, CloudWatch) -enough to read logs and diagnose whether an issue is app or infra.
