Role Description The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including managing general ledger entries, reconciling bank and account balances, and ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, assisting in cash flow management, and supporting internal and external audits. The role will also involve reviewing and improving accounting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and co-operative society guidelines, and providing financial analysis and reports to management for decision-making. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune City, requiring close collaboration with finance, operations, and leadership teams.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in financial accounting, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Experience in preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for senior leadership.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, taxation principles, and regulatory compliance applicable to financial institutions or co-operative societies.
- Comfort with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as strong skills in spreadsheet and data analysis tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and support junior accounting staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role, ideally within banking, financial services, or a co-operative environment.
