Required Skills & Qualifications
Software Proficiency: Robust working knowledge of standard CAM platforms such as UG NX, Mastercam, PowerMill, SolidCAM, or Catia.
Technical Knowledge: Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and material specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Program Generation: Convert engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical blueprints into accurate CNC machining programs.
Tool Path Optimization: Create and refine tool paths for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling or turning operations to reduce cycle times and material waste.
Tool Selection: Choose the appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters based on material properties and equipment capabilities.
Simulation & Verification: Run virtual simulations to detect potential collisions, errors, or inefficiencies before releasing programs to the shop floor.
Process Support: Collaborate with production, tool room, and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot prove-out runs and maintain documentation.
