Core Responsibilities
Emergency Response Driving: Drive fire tenders, foam trucks, and rescue vehicles safely and quickly to the incident site.
Pump Operation: Operate fire pumps, water monitors, foam proportioning systems, and booster pumps to control fires or transfer liquids.
Water and Pressure Control: Monitor pressure gauges, water levels, and flow rates during operations to ensure steady supplies.
Routine Equipment Checks: Inspect trucks, engines, pumps, hoses, and nozzles daily. Report any faults or leaks immediately.
Safety Gear Maintenance: Ensure all personal protective equipment (PPE) and rescue tools inside the vehicle are clean and ready to use.
Daily Duties and Maintenance
Testing Systems: Run pumps and engines weekly during dry runs to make sure they work properly.
Logbook Records: Write down fuel levels, mileage, water usage, and maintenance checks in the daily logbook.
Safety Drills: Help safety officers set up equipment for mock drills and training sessions.
Compliance: Follow plant safety rules, permit-to-work systems, and emergency action plans at all times.
