Pravaa is a design-led plantscaping studio based in Mumbai, creating living environments for homes, workplaces and hospitality.

We use nature as a design medium, combining plantscaping, biophilic design and plant science to create spaces that look considered, feel alive and function better.

We don't start with plants. We start with people, space and purpose — understanding how a space is used, its light, airflow, interiors and everyday rhythm before deciding what belongs where.

From indoor plantscaping and terraces to vertical gardens, moss installations and ongoing care, Pravaa designs, installs and maintains environments that are made to thrive.

About the Role

We're looking for a designer who sits at the intersection of landscape design, interiors and plantscaping.

The Landscape Designer — Indoor & Small Spaces will be responsible for translating spaces into thoughtfully designed plantscapes — understanding the architecture and interiors of a space, determining what greenery belongs where, and developing the design through to execution.

This is not a conventional large-scale landscaping role.

We work extensively with homes, balconies, terraces, foyers, living spaces, offices, lobbies and other compact urban environments, where every plant, planter and placement needs to be intentional.

You will work across the design process — from site visits and spatial analysis to planting plans, concepts, BOQs and on-site execution — while collaborating with Pravaa's wider design, horticulture and installation teams.

What You'll Do

01 — Understand the Space

- Visit sites and understand the architecture, interiors, dimensions and existing conditions
- Study natural light, airflow, orientation, movement and usage
- Understand the client's lifestyle, requirements and how they want the space to feel
- Identify opportunities where greenery can improve the space rather than simply fill it

02 — Design the Plantscape

- Develop planting layouts for indoor and small-space environments
- Decide what goes where based on scale, proportion, composition, light and spatial function
- Develop planting plans and detailed layouts
- Select appropriate plant forms, heights, densities and groupings




- Design the relationship between plants, pots, planters, stands and the surrounding interiors
- Create cohesive compositions rather than isolated plant placements

03 — Develop the Design

- Prepare 2D layouts, technical drawings and 3D visualisations
- Develop concepts, moodboards and presentations where required
- Prepare BOQs and material specifications
- Work with interior designers and architects to ensure the plantscape complements the larger design language
- Translate design intent into something that is aesthetically strong and practically executable

04 — Take It to Site

- Coordinate with vendors, nurseries, fabricators and installation teams
- Participate in installation and site execution
- Ensure plant placement, planter positioning, proportions and detailing are executed as designed
- Identify and solve practical site challenges
- Document final placements and relevant design information for ongoing maintenance

05 — Keep Learning

- Research recent planting styles, materials, planters and design approaches
- Explore new ways of integrating nature into interiors
- Build an understanding of plant behaviour and indoor growing conditions
- Stay curious about biophilic design, interiors, architecture and plantscaping

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone with very good taste, strong spatial understanding and genuine curiosity about plants.

Someone who

- Has a strong instinct for proportion, scale, balance and composition
- Can look at a space and understand what is missing — and what should not be added
- Has a good understanding of interiors and how different materials, colours and forms work together
- Is genuinely interested in plants and wants to understand why a particular plant works in a particular space




- Understands that good plantscaping is not just about choosing beautiful plants — it is about choosing the right plant for the right environment
- Pays attention to the details — from the height of a plant to the finish of a planter
- Can think creatively while remaining practical about light, maintenance, access and plant survivability
- Is comfortable working between design software, site visits, nurseries and live installations
- Can communicate ideas clearly and work closely with designers, horticulturists, vendors and clients
- Is curious, observant and willing to continuously learn
- Has a high standard for finish and presentation

Most importantly, you should enjoy the process of figuring things out. You don't need to know every plant or every material. But you should be the kind of person who sees something unfamiliar and wants to know more.

Qualifications

- Degree / diploma in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Architecture or a related discipline
- Robust understanding of spatial and planting design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar design software
- Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and layouts
- Basic understanding of plant selection and growing conditions
- Strong visualisation and presentation skills
- Experience in landscape design, interior landscaping, plantscaping or interior design is preferred

Exceptional freshers are welcome to apply if they have a strong portfolio, excellent spatial sense and a genuine interest in plants and design. The Kind of Person We're Looking For
