Kitchen Helper / Kitchen Machine Operator 1.

Position Details Designation: Kitchen Helper / Kitchen Machine Operator Department: Kitchen / Food & Beverage Employment Type: Full-Time 2.

Job Purpose To assist in daily kitchen operations and safely operate kitchen machines and equipment used for food preparation, cleaning and other kitchen activities, while maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness and safety standards. 3.

Key Responsibilities Operate kitchen machines and equipment as per standard operating procedures. Handle machines such as vegetable cutters, slicers, mixers, grinders, dough machines, peelers and other kitchen equipment as assigned. Check the machine before use and report any fault or abnormal operation to the Kitchen Supervisor.

Operate equipment safely and avoid unsafe handling of machines. Assist chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation activities. Wash, clean and prepare vegetables, fruits and other food items as instructed.

Maintain cleanliness of machines, work areas, kitchen floors and utensils. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment after use as per instructions. Ensure proper handling and storage of kitchen utensils and equipment.

Follow food hygiene, personal hygiene and sanitation standards. Use gloves, apron, cap, safety shoes and other PPE wherever required. Prevent wastage of food materials and consumables. Handle food ingredients carefully and maintain proper hygiene during preparation.

Assist in loading, unloading and shifting kitchen materials when required. Ensure machines are switched off and properly cleaned after use. Follow all hospital kitchen safety rules and SOPs. Immediately report any accident, injury, machine breakdown or unsafe condition to the Supervisor.

Perform other kitchen-related duties assigned by the Chef / Kitchen Supervisor. 4.

Machine Operation Responsibilities The employee shall: Operate only those machines for which proper instructions/training has been provided.



Check electrical connections, guards and safety arrangements before operating the machine. Never put hands or other objects inside a running machine.

Use the correct tools and accessories for each machine. Switch off and unplug/isolate the machine before cleaning or maintenance, wherever applicable. Keep the machine and surrounding area clean and dry.

Report unusual noise, vibration, overheating or other machine problems immediately. Never attempt unauthorized repairs or modifications.

- Hygiene & Safety Responsibilities Maintain personal cleanliness and proper uniform. Wash hands before handling food and after using the washroom or handling waste. Follow food safety and hygiene procedures. Keep raw and cooked food properly separated as instructed. Follow proper waste segregation and disposal procedures. Maintain cleanliness of floors, worktops, machines and storage areas. Follow fire, electrical and workplace safety procedures. 6.

Required Skills Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and machines. Ability to operate kitchen machines safely after training. Good physical fitness for kitchen work. Ability to follow instructions and SOPs. Basic knowledge of hygiene and cleanliness. Teamwork and discipline. Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends/holidays as per duty roster.

- Qualification &

Experience Minimum Qualification: 8th / 10th Pass preferred.

Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, hospital kitchen, hotel, cafeteria or similar setting preferred. Candidates with experience operating kitchen machinery will be given preference. 8.
