Role Description This is a full-time remote Journalist role focused on legal news and analysis. The Journalist will monitor legal developments, regulations, and court decisions across multiple jurisdictions, and produce timely news articles, features, and explainers tailored to legal professionals and general audiences. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching complex legal topics, interviewing subject-matter experts, drafting and refining news stories and press releases, and collaborating with editors to ensure accuracy, clarity, and editorial consistency.

The Journalist will also help shape coverage priorities, contribute to multimedia or broadcasting content where needed, and align reporting with Bars Across’ global,



digital-first approach. The role requires proactive story generation, adherence to journalistic ethics, and consistent delivery against deadlines in a remote, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

- Strong writing and news writing skills, with the ability to present complex legal topics clearly and accurately.
- Experience preparing press releases and working with media or communications teams to share key legal or industry updates.
- Proficient research skills, including source verification, fact-checking, and synthesizing information from legal documents and reputable publications.
- Interest or experience in broadcasting or multimedia journalism, such as audio or video segments, interviews, or panel discussions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal systems or solid interest in legal affairs; prior legal journalism or legal practice experience is an advantage.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, with strong attention to detail and editorial standards.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Law, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.
- Familiarity with digital news platforms, SEO best practices, and audience engagement tools is beneficial.
