Industrial Designer Intern / Early Career

Experience: 2 to 3 Years

Qualification: Master of Design / Masters in Fine Arts Industrial Design, Product Design

Function: Industrial Design / Product Development / R&D;

Role Summary

We are looking for a creative and hands-on Industrial Designer to develop innovative physical products from early concepts through prototypes and design refinement. The role will work closely with Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Hardware and Product teams to create products that balance aesthetics, usability, ergonomics, manufacturability and brand identity.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate product concepts through ideation, brainstorming, hand/digital sketching and form exploration.
- Develop 2D visualizations, 3D CAD models and high-quality product renderings to communicate design intent.
- Explore and refine form, proportion, ergonomics, user interaction, materials, colors, textures and finishes (CMF).
- Create physical mock-ups and functional prototypes to evaluate concepts, ergonomics, usability and overall product experience.
- Apply human factors and user-centered design principles while developing physical products and interfaces.
- Conduct product benchmarking, user research and competitive analysis to identify design opportunities.
- Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering to translate concepts into technically feasible and manufacturable products.
- Participate in design reviews, concept evaluations and iterative design development based on technical and user feedback.




- Working closely with Mechanical Engineering from concept stage so that designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Exposure to electromechanical, kiosk, sheet-metal or access-control products.
- Support material selection, CMF definition, graphics, labeling, surface finishes and product detailing.
- Prepare design presentations, visualizations, specifications and documentation to effectively communicate design intent.

Candidate Profile

- Strong portfolio demonstrates design process from problem identification and ideation through concept development, prototyping and final design.
- Solid ability in sketching, form development, 3D modeling, visualization and rendering.
- Hands-on experience in making, building and testing physical prototypes.
- Good understanding of human factors, ergonomics, materials, manufacturing processes and CMF.
- Creative problem solver with strong attention to product aesthetics, usability and detailing.
- Self-driven, organized and comfortable working collaboratively with Design and Engineering teams.
- Experience with electronic, electromechanical, IoT, security/access-control or other physical products will be an advantage.
