About the opportunity A leading financial services organisation is strengthening its people technology leadership in Bengaluru. The Head of HR Technology will own the HR systems estate end to end: platform strategy, architecture, delivery, integrations, people data, vendor governance and the controls a regulated business expects.

The role sits at the intersection of HR, Technology, Information Security and Risk. It suits a leader who has run an enterprise HR platform through a full implementation or transformation, who has sat across the table from auditors and regulators, and who wants the mandate to build a modern, trusted HR technology function.

Why this role matters

HR technology in a regulated financial institution carries obligations most industries do not. Employee data falls under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025. HR platforms, their integrations and their vendors sit within regulator expectations on IT governance, outsourcing and cyber resilience, whether under RBI, SEBI or IRDAI.

Every platform decision in this role is also a control decision. The client is looking for someone who treats that as the engaging part of the job.

Must have

- 6 to 10 years of experience in HR technology, HRIS or HR transformation, including at least 3 years leading an HR technology function or a large HR platform programme.




- Hands-on ownership of at least one enterprise HCM platform through a full implementation or major transformation (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Fusion HCM, Darwinbox or equivalent).
- Experience in a regulated environment, ideally banking, insurance, capital markets, NBFC or fintech, with direct exposure to audit, regulatory inspection or control frameworks.
- Strong grounding in integration patterns (APIs, iPaaS platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft or Workato, secure file transfer and event-based integration), identity and access management, and data architecture.
- Working knowledge of India labour, payroll and statutory requirements as they apply to HR systems, and of the DPDP Act and Rules.
- Track record of managing vendors, budgets and multi-crore programmes with measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated people leadership: built or scaled a team, developed successors and managed performance.
- Clear communicator who can brief a CHRO, a CIO and an auditor with equal ease.

Preferred

- Certification on the client's core HCM platform (Workday Pro, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud or equivalent).
- Experience with HR service delivery platforms (ServiceNow HRSD or similar), employee listening tools and skills-based talent platforms.
- Exposure to AI governance and responsible AI practice in HR, for example NIST AI RMF or ISO/IEC 42001.
- Experience with SOX or internal financial control testing, ISO 27001 audits or SOC 2 vendor assessments.
- Product management, agile or programme management credentials (CSPO, SAFe, PMP or PRINCE2).
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources or a related field. MBA or a master's degree in HR or Information Systems preferred.

Location, work model, and compensation

- Based in Bengaluru. [Work model: hybrid or on-site, to be confirmed by the client.] Occasional travel to other client locations.
