Job Summary The Lead – Plant Finance will be responsible for managing all financial activities of the manufacturing plant, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, inventory management, and statutory compliance. The role requires close collaboration with plant operations to drive cost optimization, operational efficiency, and business performance. Hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO/MM/PP modules) is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead plant finance operations, including costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly plant MIS, variance reports, etc.
- Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
- Manage inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and valuation.
- Ensure accurate product costing, standard costing, BOM validation, and cost roll-ups.
- Drive plant budget preparation, cost center monitoring, and expense control.
- Perform variance analysis for material, labor, overhead, and production efficiency.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.




- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Monitor capital expenditure (CapEx) and track project costs.
- Prepare financial dashboards and business insights for plant leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in finance processes using SAP.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting and plant finance.
- Expertise in cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis.
- Hands-on experience in SAP (FI/CO mandatory; MM/PP preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Experience

- 5–10 years of experience in plant finance within a manufacturing workplace.
- Experience in product costing, inventory management, and factory accounting.
- Exposure to ERP implementation or SAP process improvements is an added advantage.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing units is preferred.
