We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Finance Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified/semi-qualified CA or CPA with 3-4 years of hands-on experience in finance operations, general accounting, fixed asset management, month-end/year-end closing activities, and financial reporting. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust accounting controls, and supporting management decision-making through timely reconciliations and summaries.
Key Responsibilities
GST Compliance & Filings
- Prepare and file GSTR-1 (outward supplies) and GSTR-3B (monthly/quarterly summary
returns) within due dates, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation with books of accounts
- Perform Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation match GSTR-2B with purchase register, identify mismatches, and coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies
- File GST Annual Returns (GSTR-9/9C), including reconciliation of annual turnover, ITC claimed, and tax paid across the financial year
- Manage GST Refund applications (exports, inverted duty structure), track claim status,
and liaise with GST authorities for timely disbursement
- Maintain and renew Letter of Undertaking (LUT) for zero-rated exports and manage compliance related to IEC (Import Export Code)
Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Process monthly payroll end-to-end computation of gross pay, deductions,
reimbursements,
and net disbursements across employee categories
- Ensure timely deposit and filing for:
Provident Fund (PF) ECR filing and monthly remittances Professional Tax (PT) state-wise computation and challan payments
National Pension System (NPS) subscriber contributions and reconciliation with NSDL/CRA records
- Prepare and file TDS returns, ensuring correct deduction, deposit, and Form 16/16A generation Vendor Payments & Accounts Payable
- Oversee the vendor payment cycle invoice verification, TDS applicability checks, approval workflows, and timely NEFT/RTGS disbursements
- Perform vendor account reconciliations, resolve payment disputes, and maintain accurate ageing reports for outstanding payables
Financial Reporting & General Ledger
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities including preparation and
posting of journal entries in compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS /GAAP)
- Maintain general ledger accounts, perform detailed account reconciliations, variance
analysis, and support statutory audit and internal audit requirements Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to optimise finance operations processes and leverage ERP systems (Workday, SAP etc.) for transaction processing, reporting, and compliance automation
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (HR, legal, procurement) to ensure consistency in
compliance practices and support entity-specific regulatory requirements
Skills required
- Experience in managing finance operations with high degree of autonomy
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
