The Fiber Field Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ACT Fibernet’s fiber-optic broadband connections. The technician will visit customer premises and network locations to ensure proper connectivity, resolve technical issues, and maintain network quality Roles & ResponsibilitiesInstall and activate FTTH/fiber broadband connections at customer premises. Perform fiber cable laying, routing, termination, and internal wiring .
Handle fiber splicing and basic fiber-optic testing. Troubleshoot fiber cuts, low signal, connectivity, and network issues . Use tools such as OTDR, power meter, VFL, and fusion splicer where required.
Visit customer locations for installation and complaint resolution. Check and maintain ONT/ONU, routers, connectors, and other network equipment . Identify faults in the last-mile fiber network and coordinate for rectification.
Ensure installations are completed according to ACT quality and safety standards. Update job status and service details through the company’s mobile/app system. Maintain proper documentation of installations, repairs, and equipment.
Travel within the assigned area for customer and network visits.
