Education and Experience:

- First class Electrical Diploma from State board
- PWD electrical supervisory License
- 3 to 8 years in Chemical / Petrochemical / Fertilizer / Oil & Gas Company

Language Skills:

- English
- Native Speaker

Software Skills:

- Office software e.g. MS Office
- SAP

Position Requirements

- Knowledge of relevant technical equipment, reliability drivers and troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of EHS and process safety standards, regulations, and best practices
- Proficient execution of 5S and other lean management principles and methodologies
- Exercises sound decision making, and judgement aligned with department objectives
- Knowledgeable of maintenance standards, procedures, and accepted best practices
- Ability to apply practical problem-solving techniques to improve work assignment efficiency and effectiveness
- Ability to work independently with limited direction and meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to modify individual approach situationally
- Demonstrated understanding of short interval controls (SICs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Working knowledge of maintenance strategies, processes, and all types of maintenance activities

Planning & execution of preventive, predictive maintenance of electrical equipment such as transformers, motors, circuit breakers, MCC/PCC, HT-LT breaker panels etc. Break down maintenance of electrical equipment.

General Description:

Reporting to the Manager Electrical, the Technician is responsible for performing all-around maintenance and repair services to increase the availability and reliability of the facility and its assets. The role requires collaboration and coordination with maintenance planners/schedulers, parts storeroom attendants and other site functions such as Production, Technical Services, and Contractors (not limited to those).

The Maintenance

Technician is an active participant in creating, cultivating, and embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement to further the ION chemical Brand promise and Operational Excellence.

Technician is also responsible for participating in developmental activities designed to stimulate individual and organizational growth.

Maintenance Technician Functional Role

Monitor daily plant consumption and abnormality if present

Preventive, predictive maintenance of electrical equipment’s such as all types of LT & HT motors, breakers, starters, PA system etc.

Prepare RCA for major plant downtimes and work on its root cause

Focus on energy conservation techniques and implementation of Kaizen

Should be able to design SLD of new circuits as per process requirements

VFD programming





Numerical relay setting and troubleshooting

Should be able to handle the shift operations independently, if required.

Trouble shooting & fault finding in electrical power & control circuits.

Should be familiar with relevant industrial safety procedures like Work permit system, LOTO system & use of PPE etc.

Able to read and understand electrical drawings

Ensures daily work meets EHS compliance and builds continuous improvement in EHS performance

Responsible for performing technical diagnosis and technical repair of site assets

Responsible for conducting preventive maintenance to increase asset uptime and reliability

Responsible for conducting reliable asset repair in the most cost-productive manner

Use hand tools like power tools and rigging equipment daily

Work all shifts flexibly when job demands

Responsible for the identifying and securing parts, tools, and inventory to complete work orders

Responsible for communicating and securing work permits and associated safety equipment to perform work

Acts as mentor for less-skilled, less tenured maintenance technicians/labors

Provide guidance and direction for contractors when needed

Accountable for parts checked out inventory, salvage of good parts and proper disposal of bad parts

Ability to use computer and accurately input data at an efficient pace to meet the and complete work order responsibilities

Consults with engineers and vendors as necessary to complete work order requirements and work order closeout.
