Role & responsibilities
- Lead electrical maintenance for 150 MW Generator, BTG, HT/LT and 220 kV GIS/AIS systems.
- Manage preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance to ensure plant reliability and availability.
- Oversee 220 kV GIS/AIS switchyard, transformers, switchgear, motors, MCCs and auxiliary systems.
- Execute relay testing, protection coordination, fault analysis and protection settings.
- Handle generator, UAT, GT and auxiliary transformer maintenance, testing and condition monitoring.
- Perform and interpret IR, PI, Tan Delta, DGA and thermography results.
- Manage blackout restoration, grid/TG synchronization and emergency power restoration.
- Drive outage planning, annual maintenance, spares and contractor management.
- Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, HIRA and electrical safety requirements.
- Lead RCA, reliability improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage maintenance activities through CMMS/SAP and optimize resources.
- Lead teams with strong focus on safety, productivity and operational excellence.
Preferred candidate profile
- B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering.
- 1015 years of relevant experience in thermal power plants.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in 150 MW+ power plants.
- 2–3 years’ hands-on experience in 220 kV GIS and AIS maintenance.
- Experience with ABB/Schneider/Siemens protection relays and testing platforms.
- Robust knowledge of HT/LT motors, VFDs, VCBs, ACBs, MCCs, PCCs and electrical protection systems.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, reliability and resource management.
