Deputy Manager Human Resources

Position: Deputy Manager HR

Department: Human Resources

Experience: 10–15 Years

Location: Pune,Ranjangaon

Reporting To: General manager

Industry: Manufacturing / Industrial

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Deputy Manager – Human Resources to manage and drive key HR functions across the organization. The role will be responsible for employee relations, manpower planning, recruitment, performance management, statutory compliance, HR operations, employee engagement, training and development, and implementation of HR policies.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment, excellent people-management skills, and the ability to work closely with business and functional leaders.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Operations & Administration

- Manage day-to-day HR operations and ensure smooth implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain employee records, HR documentation and personnel files.
- Develop and monitor HR processes, systems and SOPs.
- Prepare and analyze HR MIS, dashboards and management reports.
- Support HR audits and ensure effective HR documentation.

2. Manpower Planning & Recruitment

- Coordinate with department heads for manpower planning and workforce requirements.
- Manage recruitment activities from sourcing to onboarding.
- Develop effective recruitment strategies to attract suitable talent.
- Coordinate interviews, selection, offer management and joining formalities.
- Monitor recruitment metrics, manpower budgets and recruitment TAT.

3. Employee Relations

- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace issues.
- Maintain healthy employee-management relations.
- Conduct employee meetings and engagement initiatives.
- Support disciplinary proceedings in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Identify employee concerns and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

4. Performance Management

- Coordinate the Performance Management System and annual appraisal process.
- Support departments in setting KPIs/KRAs.
- Monitor performance evaluation timelines and ensure completion.
- Assist management in identifying high performers and improvement areas.

5. Learning & Development





- Identify training needs in coordination with functional heads.
- Prepare and implement annual training calendars.
- Coordinate technical, behavioral, compliance and leadership development programs.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and maintain training records.

6. Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws

- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate statutory registrations, returns, inspections and documentation.
- Manage compliance related to PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus, Contract Labour and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with government authorities, labour consultants and external agencies whenever required.
- Maintain proper statutory records and support internal/external audits.

7. Payroll & Compensation

- Coordinate monthly payroll activities with the payroll team.
- Ensure accurate attendance, leave, overtime and salary inputs.
- Handle employee compensation-related queries.
- Support salary revision, promotion and incentive processes.
- Assist in maintaining compensation structures and HR budgets.

8. Employee Engagement & Welfare

- Plan and implement employee engagement activities.
- Manage employee welfare initiatives and facilities.
- Coordinate employee events, recognition programs and communication activities.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and employee experience.

9. HR Policies & Process Improvement

- Review and recommend improvements to existing HR policies and processes.
- Ensure effective communication and implementation of HR policies.
- Drive HR process automation and digital HR initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for improving HR efficiency and employee satisfaction.

10. HR Strategy & Management Support

- Work closely with senior management and functional heads on HR matters.
- Provide HR insights and recommendations based on workforce data.
- Support organizational restructuring, succession planning and talent management initiatives.




- Participate in HR projects and strategic initiatives assigned by management.

Required Qualifications
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources / Personnel Management preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline.
- Additional certification in HR, Labour Laws or Industrial Relations will be an advantage.

Experience & Skills
- 10–15 years of overall HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial organization.
- Strong knowledge of HR operations, recruitment and employee relations.
- Good understanding of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience in handling blue-collar and white-collar workforce is preferred.
- Robust knowledge of payroll, attendance and HR MIS.
- Experience in performance management and training & development.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Good leadership and people-management capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with HRMS/ERP systems is preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in Industrial Relations (IR) and employee grievance handling.
- Exposure to contract labour management and statutory compliance.
- Ability to independently manage HR activities and coordinate with multiple departments.
- Strong decision-making ability and maturity to handle sensitive employee matters.
- Proactive, approachable and result-oriented HR professional.
