We are looking for an experienced Depot Manager to oversee the complete operations of our Chennai depot, including inventory management, dispatch, logistics coordination, manpower, warehouse discipline, and timely supply to stores and customers. The ideal candidate should have robust experience in FMCG/Food &

- Beverage distribution, excellent operational control, and the ability to manage a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Chennai depot and ensure smooth functioning.

- Plan and monitor inward, storage, inventory, picking, packing, and dispatch activities.

- Ensure adequate stock availability and timely replenishment to stores and other distribution points.

- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure FIFO/FEFO practices are followed.

- Monitor stock movement, ageing, damages, shortages, expiry, and wastage.

- Ensure proper handling and storage of frozen and temperature-sensitive products.

- Monitor cold-room/freezer temperatures and ensure products are maintained within required temperature standards.

- Coordinate with the Production, Procurement, Sales, Stores, and Dispatch teams for stock planning and requirements.

- Plan daily delivery routes and coordinate with drivers, delivery staff, and logistics partners.

- Ensure timely and accurate dispatches with minimum delivery delays.

- Monitor vehicle availability, loading, unloading, and delivery schedules.

- Track delivery issues, product returns, damages, and customer/store complaints and ensure timely resolution.

- Manage and supervise depot staff, including warehouse and dispatch personnel.

- Prepare manpower schedules and ensure adequate staffing for daily operations.

- Maintain high standards of warehouse hygiene, safety, housekeeping, and discipline.

- Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile physical stock with system records.

- Investigate and report stock variances and take corrective action.

- Ensure all depot documentation, invoices, delivery challans, GRNs,



and stock records are maintained properly.

- Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities to reduce wastage and logistics costs.

- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety standards, and statutory requirements.

- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on inventory, dispatch, deliveries, wastage, and depot performance.

- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective and preventive measures.

- Experience handling frozen/temperature-sensitive products will be highly preferred.

- Good understanding of logistics, route planning, and distribution.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage time-sensitive operations.

- Good knowledge of MS Excel and inventory/ERP systems.

- Strong communication and coordination skills.

Educational Qualification

- Graduate in any discipline.

- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or related fields will be an advantage.

Candidate Profile

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in depot/warehouse/distribution management.

- Experience in FMCG, Ice Cream, Dairy, Frozen Foods, or Food &
- Beverage is strongly preferred.

- Should be comfortable managing a team and handling end-to-end depot operations.

- Chennai/local market experience will be an added advantage.

- Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period will be preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹34,000.00 per month
