NR Engineering Industries is a Coimbatore-based automotive components manufacturer specializing in wireforms & hooks, push-pull cables, conduits, and cushion mats/moulded parts. IATF 16949:2016 certified, we are in active supplier-development discussions with automotive customers and are scaling our quality organization to match.

Role Summary

We need someone who has already done this — built and run a quality system strong enough to win and retain business with a major global automotive supplier, ideally from within the control cable, Bowden cable, or wireform/spring industry itself. We're looking for someone who has personally sat across the table from a Tier-1 supplier quality development (SQD) audit team, knows exactly what they're scoring you on, and has built the systems that pass. This is not a paperwork-maintenance role — it's the person who gets us from "promising new supplier" to "trusted, scorecard-A-rated program partner."

Key Responsibilities

- Own the IATF 16949:2016 quality management system end-to-end, built to withstand direct scrutiny from global Tier-1 supplier quality development teams — not just pass a certification audit
- Lead APQP, PPAP (Level 3+), PFMEA, MSA, and SPC for new part introduction on customer-nominated programs, including latch cables, wireforms, and bending rods at high-volume (lakhs/month) output
- Be the face of our quality organization during customer plant visits, supplier audits, and program reviews.
- Build and manage in-house testing lab capability specific to cable/conduit/wireform validation — pull-force, bend/flex fatigue, dimensional (VMS), tensile/UTS — with full calibration traceability
- Own PPM, OTIF, and field-return performance tracking and reporting in the exact format and rigor a global Tier-1 customer scorecard expects,



with root-cause/CAPA closure discipline (8D)
- Manage customer-specific requirements (CSRs), quality agreements, and customer supplier-portal registration and maintenance where applicable
- Flow down supplier-quality requirements to our own raw material and sub-tier vendors, with the same rigor we're held to
- Lead RFQ quality responses and NDA-stage quality readiness discussions for new customer onboarding
- Build and mentor a quality team capable of sustaining this standard without you in the room every time

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering or related field
- 10–15+ years in automotive component quality, with direct, hands-on experience at a control cable, Bowden cable, wireform/spring, or closures-hardware manufacturer
- Proven track record of directly supporting or passing audits from a global Tier-1 automotive supplier or OEM — able to speak concretely about specific audits led, findings closed, and scorecard outcomes achieved, not just certifications held
- Deep working fluency in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D/CAPA — able to run these processes independently, not just describe them
- IATF 16949 Internal/Lead Auditor certification required or in progress
- Experience with VDA 6.3 process audit methodology a strong plus, given increasing use by global OEMs/Tier-1s

Skills

- Comfortable being questioned hard by a Tier-1 SQD manager in real time — this role represents us in the room, under pressure, and needs to hold its own
- Strong root-cause and analytical problem-solving instinct, not just administrative compliance
- Hands-on shop-floor presence — able to walk a live production line and testing lab confidently with a customer, not just present slides in a conference room
- Transparent, credible communicator in technical English, comfortable in front of international/MNC audit teams

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
