Who we are
We build marketing, content, and design for enterprise technology companies across IT services, engineering R&D;, defense and aerospace, semiconductors, and enterprise AI. We work across teams in India, the UK, and the US. Our work is best described as the intersection of strategy consulting and creative direction.
Our clients are large enterprises that buy through procurement teams, sign MSAs and SOWs, and issue POs before work starts. The commercial thread through each account, from what was quoted to what was billed, needs one owner. This is that role.
What you will own
You will own the commercial side of the business. Client relationships reamain with our account teams, creative quality with our delivery teams, delivery planning with our program manager, and our finance team keeps the books, raises invoices, collects, pays vendors, and files what is due. You own what we charge, what we sign, what we bill, and what it costs us, and you make sure those four agree with each other on each account.
The role answers for 4 outcomes, and your week is built around them.
- Pricing and proposals: When a proposal is being written, you own its commercial pages. You cost the work, hours by role, vendor and production costs, and the review rounds creative work needs, and you price it against our rate card at a margin we can defend. You write the assumptions, the payment terms, the caps, and the change process into the proposal, so the SOW that follows can be signed as written. You keep the rate card current, and you tell us when a service line is priced below what it costs us to deliver.
- Procurement and contracts: You are our voice with client procurement teams. You take an MSA or an SOW through their review, negotiate rates, payment terms, and liability clauses within limits we agree in advance, and get the PO issued before work starts. Rate card reviews, vendor onboarding, renewals, and PO amendments when scope changes are yours to run. You make sure the paper behind the work is signed, priced right, and enforceable.
- Revenue assurance: Work that was done gets billed,
and work that was not sold does not get done for free. You work with our program manager and delivery leads through the month, so that each request outside the contracted scope is logged, priced, and either put to the client as a change or absorbed on the record. At month end you check the program manager’s reconciliation against the SOW and the PO before it goes to our finance team, so the invoice goes through the client’s portal the first time. Over-serviced retainers, revision rounds past the cap, POs about to expire, and finished work that was not billed are yours to catch before they cost us.
- Cost management: You know what it costs us to deliver each type of work, and you keep that cost in line with what we charge. Freelancer and vendor rates, production budgets for shoots and print, tool subscriptions, and travel go through you, budgeted before the spend and checked after. You keep a margin view by account and by service line, and you use it to tell us which work to grow, which to reprice, and where the next hire pays for itself.
The operating cadence The rhythm is weekly with the pipeline and monthly with the books. Each week you review the proposals in progress, the procurement threads that are open, and the scope requests the program manager has logged. Each month you sign off the reconciliation before it becomes an invoice, close the margin view by account, and run a short commercial review with the founder. Rate card reviews, renewals, and account profitability get a quarterly pass on a calendar you keep.
This is a busy role. On a typical day there is a proposal due, a procurement thread waiting for a reply, and a scope question from delivery, and you handle each of them yourself.
How the role grows
We do not expect you to arrive knowing our clients or their procurement teams. The first months go into learning the accounts one at a time, taking over the rate card, the SOW templates, and the open procurement threads from the founder, and signing off your first month-end.
What you bring
You have spent at least 8+ years in commercial finance, business finance, pricing, or bid and contract roles, with real time as the person who owned the number and defended it. You may come from an agency, where you priced and ran accounts against procurement, or from consulting or IT services, where you built deal pricing and negotiated SOWs. Either way, you can walk us through a deal you priced, negotiated, delivered, and billed.
You have seen a small firm move from founder-run pricing and contracts to a working function, and you know which controls to add at which size and which to leave until later.
You write and speak clearly, to a client’s procurement lead, to a designer asking why a revision round is out of scope, and to the founder when a number is worse than expected. You start without being asked and you close loops without being chased.
You treat our clients’ money and ours with the same care. You do not pad an estimate or bill for work that was not delivered, and the vendors you select have no arrangement with you on the side. When we have billed something we should not have, you are the first to say so, and it is corrected in the next invoice.
Who does well here
This role suits someone who enjoys a negotiation and takes satisfaction from a month where what was sold, delivered, and billed line up. You are comfortable being the person who says a request needs a PO, and you are content that client relationships and creative decisions belong to other roles.
It is a harder fit if your experience is mostly accounting and reporting on numbers other people negotiated, if you need a team beneath you to feel senior, or if holding a line with a client’s procurement team is something you would rather leave to someone else.
