About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Cinema Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the cinema at Paras Pearls Mall, Agra. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth theatre operations, exceptional customer experience, staff management, revenue growth, and compliance with safety and licensing regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end daily operations of the cinema, including screenings, ticketing, F&B; counters, housekeeping, and security.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve escalated guest complaints promptly and professionally.
- Manage and mentor cinema staff (ushers, ticketing staff, projectionists, F&B; team, housekeeping) including scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
- Monitor box office collections, F&B; sales, and other revenue streams; drive strategies to maximize footfall and per-head spend.
- Coordinate with film distributors/exhibitors for show scheduling, print/DCP handling, and show timings.
- Ensure adherence to projection quality, sound standards, and technical uptime; liaise with technical teams for maintenance of projection and sound equipment.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including Cinematograph Act licensing, fire safety, health & safety norms, and local municipal/police regulations.
- Manage inventory and vendor coordination for F&B; and consumables.
- Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports (occupancy, revenue, wastage, staff costs) for senior management.
- Plan and execute promotional activities,
tie-ups, corporate bookings, and special screenings (premieres, private bookings, festival events).
- Ensure cleanliness, ambience, and overall presentation of the cinema meet brand standards.
- Handle budgeting, cost control, and P&L; responsibility for the cinema unit.
- Coordinate with mall management on shared infrastructure, security, parking, and marketing initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving ability.
- Sound understanding of cinema exhibition business, ticketing systems (e.g., PLA, Vista, Qubit, or similar POS/ERP systems).
- Positive knowledge of projection and sound systems (DCP, digital cinema equipment) is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills for revenue, footfall, and cost management.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during peak hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of local licensing, safety, and statutory compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline; a degree/diploma in Hospitality, Retail, or Business Management is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cinema/multiplex operations, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
- Prior experience with reputed cinema chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, Carnival, etc.) will be preferred.
Work Conditions
- Rotational shifts including weekends, public holidays, and late-night shows.
- On-site role based at Paras Pearls Mall, Agra.
