Role Overview The client is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the institution’s technology strategy, digital transformation initiatives, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity framework, and innovation agenda. The CTO will play a critical role in enabling technology-driven excellence across academics, administration, research, and student services while ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with the university’s strategic objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their relevance to higher education.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance institutional effectiveness and competitiveness.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across the university.

IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the university’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and enterprise applications.
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of technology systems.




- Establish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Academic Technology & Digital Learning
- Collaborate with academic leadership to integrate technology into teaching and learning methodologies.
- Support the development and management of online learning platforms, digital classrooms, and educational technologies.
- Partner with faculty and researchers to leverage technology for academic and research excellence.

Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Develop and implement robust cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and controls.
- Ensure the security, privacy, and integrity of institutional data and digital assets.
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to technology and data management.

Budget & Vendor Management
- Manage the technology budget and optimize resource allocation.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement and delivery of technology solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with university leadership, faculty, and administrative teams to understand and address technology needs.




- Facilitate effective communication between IT teams and business stakeholders.
- Provide strategic technology guidance to support institutional goals.

People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing IT teams.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development within the technology function.
- Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence.

Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and strengthen partnerships with industry, government agencies, technology providers, and educational institutions.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration that enhance the university’s technology capabilities and digital ecosystem.

Candidate Profile

- 16+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership, technology strategy, digital transformation, and enterprise systems management.
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (IT/Computer Science) or equivalent
- Proven experience leading large technology teams and managing complex IT environments.
- Robust expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, enterprise applications, and digital platforms.
- Experience in higher education, large institutions, or knowledge-based organizations will be preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and strategic technology initiatives.
