Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Chief Business Officer to lead the next phase of growth for its e-commerce marketplace business.

The CBO will own the overall business P&L;, GMV/revenue growth, marketplace performance and commercial strategy, working closely with the CEO and leadership team across Product, Marketing, Category, Operations, Technology and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the overall P&L;, GMV, revenue, margins and profitability of the business.
- Define and execute the business strategy to drive sustainable and profitable growth.
- Drive marketplace growth across customers, transactions, categories, supply and engagement.
- Identify and build new growth opportunities across categories, geographies, customer segments and business models.
- Own key commercial levers including pricing, take rates, commissions, promotions and monetization.
- Strengthen marketplace health by balancing demand, supply, assortment, pricing and customer experience.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with key sellers, brands and ecosystem partners.




- Partner closely with Product & Technology to translate business priorities into scalable platforms and capabilities.
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing business organization with strong accountability and execution focus.

Candidate Profile

- 15+ years of experience, with significant leadership experience in e-commerce, consumer internet, marketplaces or digital businesses.
- Proven track record of scaling a sizeable business/P&L; and delivering solid GMV/revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, including supply, demand, category, pricing and monetization.
- Strong commercial and analytical orientation with demonstrated ability to improve business economics and profitability.
- Experience leading large, cross-functional teams and working closely with CEOs/founders and senior leadership.
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on and execution-oriented, with the ability to operate effectively in a high-growth environment.
