Role Overview

Kastech is seeking an experienced Banner Integration Consultant to support higher education customers with Ellucian Banner integration development, modernization, and SaaS transformation initiatives. The role requires hands-on capability across Banner technical architecture, Ellucian Ethos, Data Connect, APIs,

and supported integration patterns.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and support integrations between Ellucian Banner and third-party applications.

Build and configure integrations using Ellucian Ethos Integration, Ethos APIs and data models, Ellucian

Data Connect, REST APIs, and web services.

Develop and maintain API-based, file-based, and scheduled integrations, including validation, error handling, and reconciliation.

Assess existing Banner interfaces and recommend modernization approaches appropriate for Banner

SaaS/cloud environments.

Prepare source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, technical specifications, test cases, and deployment documentation.

Troubleshoot API failures, integration errors, data issues, and interface performance problems across environments.

Work with Banner Student, Finance, Financial Aid, and HR/HCM functional and technical teams to translate requirements into integration solutions.

Support integration testing, deployment, production transition, and post-go-live stabilization.

Coordinate with onsite/client-facing teams and participate in customer technical discussions when required.





Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of relevant enterprise application, integration, or Ellucian Banner technical experience.

Hands-on experience with Ellucian Banner technical architecture and Banner integrations.

Strong practical experience with Ellucian Ethos Integration, Ethos APIs, and/or Ellucian Data Connect.

Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, authentication, web services, and enterprise integration patterns.

Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL in a Banner workplace.

Understanding of Banner database structures, processes, and integration dependencies.

Experience integrating Banner with external applications using APIs, flat files, SFTP, web services, or scheduled processes.

Ability to perform data mapping, transformation, validation, troubleshooting, and reconciliation.

Exposure to Boomi, MuleSoft, Informatica IICS, Azure Integration Services, or similar platforms.

Experience supporting U.S. higher education institutions and familiarity with FERPA/data-governance considerations.

Ideal Profile: A hands-on Banner integration consultant who can understand an existing interface, determine the right supported integration pattern, and independently design and implement the solution using Ethos, Data Connect, APIs, or other appropriate mechanisms.
