Role Purpose

Responsible for preparing accurate 2D technical drawings, manufacturing drawings, product layouts, tooling drawings, and customer-specific drawings for the Cable Lugs Division. The role supports product development, production, quality, and sales teams by ensuring all drawings are technically correct, properly documented, and suitable for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Drawing & Development

- Prepare detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings for Copper Cable Lugs, Aluminium Lugs, Bimetallic Lugs, Connectors, Reducers, Ferrules, Cable Glands, and related electrical accessories.
- Create manufacturing drawings with complete dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, plating requirements, and technical notes.
- Prepare drawings for standard products as well as customer-specific / customized requirements.
- Modify existing drawings based on production feedback, tooling changes, customer requirements, or quality observations.
- Prepare product cross-sections, sectional views, assembly drawings, and component drawings where required.

2. Manufacturing & Tooling Support

- Coordinate with Tool Room, Production, Quality, and R&D; teams for drawing clarification and feasibility.
- Prepare press tool, punching, forming, drilling, trimming, and inspection-jig drawings as required.
- Ensure drawings are practical for manufacturing processes such as cutting, forging, chamfering, drilling, annealing, plating, and crimping.
- Assist in preparing die layouts, blank development, and process drawings for sheet-metal cable terminals.




- Support trial production by incorporating necessary changes in drawings after sample development.

3. Technical Documentation

- Maintain drawing numbers, revision history, BOMs, and product specifications.
- Prepare technical data sheets, dimensional charts, product catalog drawings, and customer approval drawings.
- Ensure all drawings clearly mention material grade, surface finish, plating thickness, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Maintain soft and hard copies of approved drawings in a systematic manner.
- Prepare inspection drawings and coordinate with QC for critical dimensions and GO/NO-GO gauges.

4. Customer & Sales Support

- Prepare technical drawings and dimensional details required for quotations, samples, approvals, and tenders.
- Support the Sales team with product drawings, catalogue layouts, and customer-specific technical requirements.
- Assist in preparing deviation drawings where customer specifications differ from standard AEW products.
- Coordinate with customers or internal teams for drawing approval and technical clarification when required.

5. Quality, Standards & Compliance

- Ensure drawings follow applicable product standards, customer specifications,



and internal quality requirements.
- Incorporate dimensional tolerances, crimping dimensions, hole sizes, palm dimensions, and material details accurately.
- Follow drawing-control procedures, revision-control systems, ISO documentation, and confidentiality requirements.
- Ensure no unapproved drawing is released for manufacturing.

Key Skills Required

- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D is mandatory.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, sections, and GD&T; basics.
- Understanding of sheet-metal components, press tools, copper, aluminium, brass, and electrical accessories.
- Ability to read and prepare manufacturing drawings independently.
- Basic knowledge of cable lugs, connectors, ferrules, cable glands, or electrical components preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and drawing-document control.
- Positive coordination and communication skills with production, tool room, and quality teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.

Education & Experience

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or related technical field.
- 01–03 years of experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman in sheet-metal, electrical components, cable accessories, tooling, or manufacturing industry.
- Experience in cable lugs, connectors, cable glands, press tools, or metal component drawings will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
