The Assistant Professor role in the Department of Commerce is a full-time, on-site position based at the Bangalore Central Campus in Bengaluru. The role involves planning and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in commerce and related disciplines, using student-centered and outcome-based teaching methods. The faculty member will design lesson plans, prepare learning materials, assess student performance through assignments and examinations, and provide academic mentoring and guidance.

Responsibilities include engaging in research and scholarly activities, publishing in reputed journals, participating in curriculum development, and contributing to departmental initiatives and accreditation processes.



The role also requires active participation in university committees, academic events, outreach activities, and collaboration with industry and international partners to enhance learner exposure and professional readiness.

Qualifications

- Advanced academic preparation in Commerce or related disciplines (Master’s degree with NET/SET or PhD preferred, in line with regulatory requirements).
- Demonstrated ability in teaching core commerce subjects such as accounting, finance, taxation, business law, and related areas, using contemporary pedagogical approaches.
- Research aptitude with evidence or strong potential for scholarly publications, conference participation, and involvement in funded projects or academic collaborations.
- Curriculum development and academic planning skills, including experience in designing course content, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies.
- Solid communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency in using educational technologies, learning management systems, and digital tools to support teaching, assessment, and student engagement.
- Commitment to ethical academic practices, student mentoring, and contribution to institutional activities, accreditation processes, and quality enhancement initiatives.
- Experience or interest in international collaborations, professional certifications, and industry interaction in the areas of finance, accounting, and commerce will be an added advantage.
