:

Assistant Production Manager is responsible for the successful and effective operation of a particular Product line e.g. Condensing Unit Line, Evaporator Line, Condenser Coil, or any other. The production Line supervisor ensures the right tools, and techniques are employed making the best use of the available resources to meet the Production Target wrt a given Production Plan.

Key responsibilities

- Production Planning and Control:Develop and implement production plans, ensuring on-time delivery and meeting customer requirements.Monitor production progress, identifying and addressing bottlenecks and issues.
- Manpower Planning & Allocation: Estimate, plan, and allocate operators across the line to support ramp-up/ramp-down, and multi-skill them to prevent absenteeism from impacting productivity.
- Production Execution & Sequencing: Understand daily/weekly plans, decide the optimal assembly sequence based on part commonality, and track output against shift targets.
- Material & Inventory Readiness: Prepare advance Material Requisitions using BOMs, verify non-conforming/defective parts with QC, store materials in line-adjacent bins, and manage offline sub-assemblies.
- Technical & Process Supervision: Ensure operations (tube cutting, bending, hairpin/U-bend, expansion, brazing, assembly, testing) strictly follow engineering drawings, process parameters, and Visual Work Instructions.
- Quality & Defect Control: Monitor brazing quality, leakage, rework,



and scrap to minimize material wastage and prevent non-conforming parts from entering the assembly line.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with QC, PPC, Maintenance, Stores, and Engineering to balance assembly lines, secure proper Jigs/Fixtures, and resolve material or technical issues.
- Equipment Maintenance & Downtime: Coordinate with Maintenance for timely preventive maintenance and prompt troubleshooting to eliminate machine or line breakdowns.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily production logs, shift performance reports, and operational records.
- Implement Workplace Standards: Identify and implement process improvements, using lean manufacturing principles and other tools.
- Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Train, guide, and coach operators to boost line productivity, maintain high morale, and amicably resolve shop-floor interpersonal issues.

Requirements:

- Qualification: Diploma / ITI / B.E. Mechanical or Production Engineering
- Experience: 5-10 years in heat exchanger, coil, HVAC&R; or sheet-metal/copper tube manufacturing
- Good knowledge of brazing, leak testing, tube expansion, coil assembly and production control
- Ability to manage 2050+ shop-floor operators
- Familiar with 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 7 QC tools and basic Excel
