Job Summary

The Commis I is responsible for assisting the kitchen team in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, and supporting smooth kitchen operations. The role requires basic cooking skills, discipline, teamwork, and adherence to food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of food as instructed by senior chefs.
Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, seafood, sauces, and other items.
Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
Assist Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff during service.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
Clean and maintain kitchen utensils and equipment after use.
Support other kitchen sections when required.




Perform any other duties assigned by the Chef or management.

Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen preferred.
Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen setting.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Positive attitude, discipline, and willingness to learn.
