Skills Required
Hands-on experience in TIG welding of aluminium, preferably 5xxx / 6xxx series.
Ability to handle medium to heavy-thickness aluminium fabrication and welding activities.
Valuable knowledge of heat input control, distortion control techniques, and proper weld sequencing.
Experience in producing defect-free welds with good control over porosity, cracks, and lack of fusion. Valid welder qualification certificate up to 3G positions is preferred.
Valuable knowledge of argon shielding techniques and appropriate filler wire selection for aluminium welding.
Ability to work as per engineering drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), with basic knowledge of fit-up and alignment.
