The Academic Lead – Mathematics will drive excellence in mathematics teaching and learning across the school. The role ensures effective curriculum implementation, supports teacher development, and promotes cutting-edge practices to enhance student outcomes. By mentoring teachers, analyzing performance data, and coordinating academic initiatives, the Academic Lead will strengthen the overall quality of mathematics education and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure effective implementation of the mathematics curriculum across grades.
Develop annual, monthly, and weekly academic plans.
Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
Organize training sessions, workshops, and career development activities.
Promote cutting-edge and activity-based teaching methodologies.
Analyze student performance data and identify learning gaps.
Design intervention strategies to improve learning outcomes.
Review and standardize question papers, worksheets, and assessment tools.
Develop and review teaching-learning materials, worksheets, and resource packs.
Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and academic teams.
Support communication with parents regarding student progress when required.
Coordinate with external academic partners and education specialists.
Prepare academic reports, action plans, and progress updates.
Track implementation of academic initiatives and improvement plans.
Promote the integration of technology in mathematics teaching.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mathematics (M.Sc. Mathematics) – preferred.
B.Ed. – mandatory for school academic leadership roles.
