Job Summary

We are looking for an Assistant Manager Payroll Finance to manage end-to-end payroll accounting GL reconciliation, payroll JV preparation, and monthly payroll cost analysis ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely month-end closing.

Role & responsibilities
Reconcile monthly payroll GL accounts (salary payable, PF/ESI/PT/TDS, bonus accruals, F&F; settlements) and resolve mismatches with HR/payroll teams.
Prepare and post monthly payroll JVs with accurate cost-center/entity-wise allocation within closing timelines.
Validate statutory deductions, reimbursements, and variable pay components before posting.
Analyze monthly payroll costs, prepare actual vs. budget variance, and generate cost MIS for management.
Support budgeting/forecasting cycles with payroll cost inputs and fixed/variable cost breakups.
Ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS) across payroll accounting.




Support internal, statutory, and SOX audits with reconciliations and JV backups.
Coordinate with HR, payroll vendors, and business finance teams on data accuracy and reporting.
Drive process improvements and automation in reconciliation and JV workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications
B.Com/M.Com/MBA (Finance); CA/CMA Inter preferred
56 years in payroll finance, GL reconciliation, and month-end close
Robust knowledge of payroll statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS)
Hands-on experience with ERP (D365) and payroll systems
Advanced Excel; Power BI/Power Query is a plus
Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage month-end deadlines
