Role & Technical Responsibilities:
Further development and continuous improvement of object-oriented COMOS-based systems used in engineering and plant design
Operational responsibility for the administrative maintenance, development and support of engineering applications based on COMOS
Collection, analysis and clarification of user requirements in an engineering workplace
Preparation of technical concepts, solution designs and workflow diagrams for engineering IT applications
Implementation of approved requirements according to defined concepts and development standards
Programming and customization of system enhancements and functionalities using .NET technologies (VB.NET, C#)
Development and maintenance of interfaces, data models and engineering-related functionalities
Preparation, maintenance and continuous update of technical and user documentation
Worldwide IT application support for engineering users, including incident analysis and problem resolution
Close collaboration with engineering departments, IT stakeholders and international project teams
Requirements
Robust experience in object-oriented software development,
preferably in engineering-related IT environments
Proven programming experience using VB.NET and/or C#
Advanced programming skills in COMOS
Advanced knowledge of COMOS products and associated features
Advanced knowledge of SQL databases (e.g. MS SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access)
Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and tools
Experience in plant engineering, large-scale industrial projects or instrumentation & control (I&C;) is an advantage
Proficient use of MS Office applications
Experience in analysing user requirements and translating abstract engineering needs into technical solutions
Sound knowledge of software implementation and application lifecycle processes
Ability to read and understand IT-related technical documentation in English and basic communication skills in English for interaction with international users
Openness for international delegation or assignments (up to one year) within Germany or international teams
