is a part of Company Quality Policies and Procedures. This standard defines the tasks and responsibilities of the Engineer Welding for Tema India Pvt Ltd in the Kherdi Works.
This standard is valid for all employees associated with this role.
1. General:
The Engineer Welding is responsible for overall welding by various welding processes under all Work Orders at Kherdi Works in accordance with Codes, Standards and Customer Specifications as per companys Quality Policy, procedures and work instructions for customized and standard equipment.
1. Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Engineer Welding shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Welding Management
- Review the requirement of customer with respect to welding and freeze the welding process, Welding procedures to be used during production.
- Prepare and distribute of Weld Plan/NDE Plan and WPS at the point of use well in time.
- Ensure qualification of welders & welding operators as per need of shop after consultation with Manager Welding & Head Production.
- Carry out random welding checks to ensure better control in production welding.
- Arrange to update master data bank of WPS, PQR and WPQ for welding department.
- Preparation & distribution of welder qualification list quarterly.
Cost Management
- Arrange to reduce the redundancy in welding procedure by ensuring the wide coverage of the procedure.
- Arrange automation to control overall cost of welding.
Innovation and Newness
- Arrange to issue the qualification cards to the welders.
- Arrange Multi-skilling of the welders and welding operators.
Organizational responsibilities
- Encourage colleagues & subordinates to take responsibility for their development within the company.
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Comply with and help to enforce Company’s standard policies and procedures.
Key Result Areas (KRA’s)
- Review the qualification of welder & initiate to qualify if qualified welders are not available.
- Arrange to remove redundancy in Tube to tube sheet mock up qualified to limit the number of mock ups.
- Identify & qualify the welders for multi-skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Arrange qualification of welders required for the projects before start of projects
- Ensure calibration of 100% welding equipments & machines in use.
- Arrange qualification of welding & expansion mock up before in time
- Spot check of critical processes i.e. welding min. 5 per month
