Qualification

Diploma /B. Sc Nursing from a Recognized institution with valid Nursing Council Registration from Maharashtra Nursing Council

Role Purpose To provide high-quality patient care by assisting in clinical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety, administering medications, and supporting doctors and healthcare teams in delivering effective treatment and compassionate service.

Key Responsibilities

- Performs the nursing assessment of patient, identifies the problems and implements nursing care effectively, skillfully and evaluates
- Performs admission procedure, transfer and discharge according to the hospital policies.
- Administers medications & IV fluids as per orders using the scientific technique with adequate knowledge of the action, dose and side effects of drugs.
- Assists the physician in performing various medical procedures therapeutically needed for the patient.
- Performs independent nursing procedures prescribed for the patient as a part of his therapy
- Performs independent nursing procedures needed for the patient as preventive/interventional/rehabilitative measure.
- Carries out all procedures as per the infection control protocol
- Assists in carrying out diagnostic test and therapeutic procedures.
- Conducts handing over and taking over of each patient in each shift.
- Maintains all records and reports accurately and on time.
- Uses resources effectively and is cost effective.
- Is able to perform all nursing functions in any shift as per the staffing rotation
- Is able to meet the hygienic, nutrition and elimination needs of the patient




- Is able to maintain an aesthetic patients unit at all the times
- Is able to perform basic functions in specific areas of the hospital like critical care unit / AKD / OT / OPD etc.
- Communicates effectively & maintains cordial skilled relationship with other members of health team
- She abides by the rules, regulations & policies established by the hospital.
- Is able to liaise with other departments like pharmacy, radiology, CSSD, OT, etc for patient care issues.
- Educates the patient, relatives or her peers as per the need.
- Supervises the activities of housekeeping, clerical and other staff when needed.

1. Communication Skills:

- Ability to comprehend verbal instructions given by the supervisor or head of the department / doctors.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively with patients, relatives, other departments and social and or community agencies
- Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively when a telephonic message is received
- Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the Doctors and the other related departmental personnel / doctors

1. Technical Skills:

- Competent to assess and monitor immune compromised patients




- Ability to prepare and administer chemotherapy
- Ability to observe the early signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
- Competent to handle the following situations in the day care
- Admissions
- Transfers- Intra-hospital and inter-facility
- Discharges
- Deaths
- Care of the dead and handing over procedures including mortuary protocol
- Medico-legal cases
- Ambulance call protocol

1. Other Skills:

- Technical skills of handling CVAD, Blood sampling and transfusions
- Pre-chemo counseling
- Have an affinity for teamwork.
- Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision
- Technical skills required for using and maintaining the various equipments and the computer
- Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively
- Ability and willingness to work in other nursing units
- Very quick and prompt in handling patients and providing care
- Competent to handle different CODES used in the hospital for emergency situations

1. Emotional Maturity:

- Ability to handle & calm emotionally sad, depressed, anxious patients and their relatives.
- Ability to calm patients who fear hospitalization, procedures, equipment etc
