We are looking for an experienced and skilled VMC Setter to join our Machine Shop team. The candidate will be responsible for machine setting, tool selection, program loading, and ensuring quality production as per engineering drawings and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate VMC machines as per production requirements.
- Perform machine setting, tool setting, and work offset corrections.
- Load and edit CNC programs as required.
- Read and understand engineering drawings and machining specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Conduct first-piece inspection and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, and Bore Gauge.
- Troubleshoot basic machining and setting-related issues.
- Monitor tool wear and perform tool offset adjustments.
- Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and follow 5S practices.
- Follow safety procedures and coordinate with supervisors and quality teams.
Eligibility & Skills
- Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical qualification.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in VMC machine setting and operation preferred.
- Positive knowledge of CNC/VMC machine setting and tooling.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of tool offsets, work offsets, and machining parameters.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of CNC program loading and basic editing.
