Position: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Economics & Economic Applications

Classes: IX to XII

Experience Required: 5–10 years of teaching experience at PGT/Senior Secondary level

School Timing: 9:30 A.M. to 4:45 P.M.

Preference: Candidates with ICSE & ISC teaching experience will be given special preference.

Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary School, Barrackpore, invites applications from experienced, passionate, and academically strong teachers for the position of PGT Economics & Economic Applications for Classes IX to XII.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Economics and Economic Applications education, preparing students for ICSE and ISC examinations, developing conceptual understanding, and fostering analytical, critical, and practical economic thinking among students.

The candidate should have excellent subject knowledge, robust classroom-management skills, effective communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to the academic and overall development of students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Postgraduate degree in Economics from a recognised university.

B.Ed.



or equivalent professional teaching qualification preferred/required as per school requirements.

5–10 years of relevant teaching experience at PGT/Senior Secondary level.

Strong experience teaching Economics and Economic Applications to Classes IX–XII.

Candidates with ICSE and ISC curriculum experience will be given special preference.

Strong knowledge of ICSE/ISC syllabus, examination pattern, and assessment requirements.

Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Ability to explain complex economic concepts in a simple, clear, and engaging manner.

Strong classroom-management and student-engagement skills.

Good lesson-planning, assessment, and documentation skills.

Ability to use digital teaching tools, presentations, smart boards, and other educational technology.

Strong analytical, organisational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
