Role & responsibilities

Train Operations

- Give signals for train arrivals and departures.

- Coordinate train movements with nearby stations.

- Ensure trains run according to the schedule.

Safety Management

- Ensure passenger and train safety.

- Follow railway operating rules and safety procedures.

- Handle emergencies, accidents, or operational disruptions.

Station Administration

- Maintain station records and registers.

- Monitor signalling and interlocking systems.

- Coordinate with loco pilots, guards, and control offices.

Passenger Service

- Make announcements regarding train arrivals and departures.

- Address passenger queries during operational issues.

- Ensure smooth handling of platform activities.

Communication

- Stay in constant contact with control rooms and adjoining stations.

- Relay operational information to railway staff.
